Upgrading Uliven Station in Norway

Norway / Substations

Omexom in Norway is awarded by Hafslund Nett (electricity operator in Norway) to upgrade Ulven substation in central Oslo.

Omexom in Norway is awarded by Hafslund Nett
(electricity operator in Norway) to upgrade Ulven substation in central Oslo. Ulven substation is influenced by increasing short-circuit levels in the regional network, which cause that the current plant do not have insufficient short-circuit security.

The work performed in Norway by Omexom’s teams consists of complete upgrade of the 47 kV system for 14 switch fields including change of switches in three capacitor battery switches, dismantling of material in six switching fields not in operation, change of switches in open 11 kV switching systems, dismantling of 11 kV systems not in operation, disassembly of compressed air systems, wall penetrations, necessary extensions and adaptations to the control system and grounding of new plant parts.

Some of the fields at the plant are owned by Statnett, who in connection with the upgrade, carries out the work on these fields themselves.

The Omexom project is just starting and will be completed in November 2020.
